I think hello is in order because it has been a very long time since I last wrote anything and the reason for that is I’ve had no idea what to write. I keep coming up with loads of ideas and then deciding against them because I’m thinking does anyone even read this or care about what goes on in my life, there’s only so much a person can right about before they sound like every other blogger out there. How does one found their own niche, something that makes them stand out from everyone else.
I was reading I heart New York (I should say re-reading actually…I have a habit of doing that with good books), anyway yes I was reading this book by the pool in the sweltering heat that is Croatia and the main character had moved to New York after a bad break up and started writing a blog for a magazine about her new life. I was sat thinking to myself I want this life (without the bad break up) I want to just up and move to New York and write about my life for a living. But then reality kicks in and I realise I’m only reading a book and I can’t do that because 1. I’m still at university 2. I have a boyfriend in London 3. I’m only 19. So then I think to myself my life isn’t that different: I live in London, I have a blog (albeit its been a while since I’ve posted) but then nothing interesting goes on in my life so what is there to write about?
I love travelling and I love reading about others peoples adventures but when it comes down to me writing about my travels I’m stuck thinking ‘yes I visited this place but then why do people care about what I did or what I saw’. As I’m writing this I’m thinking to myself this is my blog so I should just write about what I want to write about but then I want this blog to do well and its not if people don’t like what I’m writing…. bit of a tricky situation.
I’m going to make myself a plan of what I want to do with my life, save enough money to move to New York and what I want from this blog.
It was tricky giving this post a title as well as its more of a splurging of thoughts on my part but I think Blogging Bummer works well, don’t you?..Glad you agree.
Hopefully I shall be posting a lot more, I just needed a little inspiration and it seems a book was all it took.
